Shaykh Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari is a prominent Islamic scholar, public intellectual and inspirational speaker. He is known for his in-depth understanding of Islamic knowledge and outstanding oratory skills. His scholarship and outreach efforts have made a profound impact both in Bangladesh and internationally, particularly among the youth.

Dr. Azhari holds a PhD and MPhil in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Egypt. In recognition of his academic roots at Al-Azhar, he is widely known by the title “Azhari”; a post-nominal honorific affectionately used by both his peers and the public.

He is the Founder and Chairman of the Hasanah Foundation, a unique and visionary initiative that aims to bring transformative change to society by nurturing future leaders through a robust Islamic educational system, rigorous academic and intellectual development, and impactful social welfare programs. Through the Hasanah Foundation, Dr. Azhari aspires to produce a generation that adheres to the ethos and values of Islam and is equipped to lead with wisdom, compassion and integrity.

Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari has attained academic excellence and recognition across various fields of Islamic studies. He graduated with a B.A. (Honours) from the prestigious Al-Azhar University and completed his Masters and PhD at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He has received numerous scholarships and awards for his outstanding performance both nationally and internationally. Dr. Azhari has served as a keynote speaker at the “World Quran Convention 2022” held at Perdana Hall, MITI, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and at the “MUNA Convention 2023” at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, USA. Recognized as an iconic figure among youth, he was also featured on the cover of OIC Today Magazine in 2022.

Community Engagement

Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari has been actively engaged in numerous community service and humanitarian initiatives. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he led a nationwide humanitarian project in Bangladesh, providing essential food supplies to 5,500 families across 35 districts. He has also participated in multiple interfaith dialogues and peacebuilding initiatives, collaborating with diverse religious groups and organizations.

Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari has conducted research on various aspects of Islamic revealed knowledge and human science. His research interests include Quranic Studies, Islamic Ethics, Prophetic Seerah, Human Behavior, Human Rights, Scientific Indications in the Qur'an, Comparative Religion, Islamophobia and other contemporary issues. He has presented his research findings at internationally credible and recognised conferences and summits.

Publications

Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari has published academic articles on a wide range of topics that deal with synthesizing religious values in a secular context. Three of his noteworthy published research include "Psychological Aspect of Human Behavior in the Qur'an" , "A New Model Of Continuous Improvement In Total Quality Management From An Islamic Perspective" and "Time Management from An Islamic Perspective: An Exploratory Study". He has also authored three books entitled "Message: Adhunik Monone Diner Chowa" , "Ahoban: Adhunik Monone Alor Porosh" and "Reflection From Surah Yousuf" which were recognised as national best sellers. He has also a book chapter namely "The Qur'anic Style in Disclosing the Behavioural Features of Hypocrites" which has been published by the Department of Qur'an and Sunnah Studies, AHAS Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

These include channels such as TV Alhijrah in Malaysia, Baishakhi TV, ATN Bangla, Channel 24 in Bangladesh and also the BBC and Al-Jazeera. Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari has received numerous awards and accolades in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements and significant contributions to Islamic Da'wah. In 2007, he secured 1st position among selected candidates for the Al-Azhar University scholarship under the Islamic Foundation, Ministry of Religious Affairs. He has been honored with the Certificate of Excellence by the Department of Tafsir and Quranic Sciences, Al-Azhar University; the Certificate of Appreciation by the Department of Quran and Sunnah Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia; and the Certificate of Recognition by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Turkey. He has also been featured in the IIUM Alumni Magazine as one of the IIUM Alumni Preachers, alongside other internationally recognized scholars. Additionally, he has received several awards, including the Rokomari Bookfair Best Seller Award (2021), YouTube Golden Play Button Creator Award (2021), Al Azhar Welfare Foundation Award (2020), and the Geomatika Award (2019), among others.
